Itinerary for Char Dham Yatra
(Delhi – Haridwar – Barkot – Yamunotri – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Guptkashi – Kedarnath – Badrinath – Rishikesh – Rudraprayag – Haridwar – Delhi)

Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar.

At Delhi, a representative from Corners of Earth shall meet you at your location and will initiate your journey for Haridwar. We shall drop you at your hotel and will assist you in completing the hotel check-in formalities. During the evening time, we shall take you to the Har Ki Pauri Ghat where you will get to see the Ganga Aarti being performed by priests on the banks of holy Ganges. Overnight stay at Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot.

After completing breakfast, we shall proceed for Barkot. Barkot, a small hill station in Uttarakhand, is located at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The town is located on the banks of the Yamuna River and is at a distance of 48 km from Yamunotri. On our way, we will go through Mussoorie and shall take you to the beautiful Kempty Falls. After reaching Barkot, you will be transferred to your hotel/camp. Overnight stay at Barkot.

Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri and back.

After breakfast, we shall depart for Hanuman Chatti, Janki Chatti. From here, the trek route to Yamunotri shall start. If you want to avoid walking the distance of 8 km, you can hire a palki or a pony. The trek route offers magnificent views of the Himalayas. Yamunotri, located at an altitude of 10,804 feet, is one of the shrines of the Char Dham Yatra and is an important destination of religious importance for the Hindus. The sacred Yamuna river originates from this place. The actual source, however, is the Champasar Glacier which is roughly at a distance of 1 km from this place. After your arrival at Yamunotri, take a bath in the Yamuna river and offer Puja. After spending some time at Yamunotri, we shall come back to Barkot through the same route. Overnight stay at Barkot.

Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi.

After breakfast, we shall drive you to Uttarkashi which is known for its historical monuments, temples and ashrams. Uttarkashi, which means Kashi of the North, is located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. This place has lots of similarity with Kashi (Varanasi), hence, the name Uttarkashi. Like Varanasi, this small town of Uttarakhand also has a ghat named Manikarnika Ghat. Furthermore, it also has a Vishwanath Temple. During the afternoon/evening time, we shall take you to the Vishwanath Temple. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Gangotri, a small town located at an altitude of 10,200 feet. This is the another shrine of the Char Dham Yatra. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Ganga started flowing from this region after Lord Shiva released the river from the locks of His hair.it was here that Goddess Ganga descended when Lord Shiva released the mighty river from the locks of his hair. After reaching Gangotri, take a dip in the sacred waters of the Ganges (known as Bhagirathi in this part of India) and visit the Gangotri Temple. After offering Puja, we shall drive back to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptakashi.

After breakfast, we shall proceed for Guptakashi, a small town which is located at a distance of 47 km from Kedarnath. Guptakashi is popular among the travellers because of its ancient Vishwanath Temple, which is similar to the one in Varanasi. The place is home to another temple dedicated to Ardhanasreshvara, a half man and a half woman form of Lord Shiva and Parvati. At Guptakashi, you need to do undergo a medical checkup for your Kedarnath yatra. Overnight stay at Guptakashi.

Day 7: Guptakashi to Kedarnath.

Early in the morning, we shall drive to Sonprayag from where the trek route to Kedarnath starts. Kedarnath Temple will be the third shrine for your Char Dham Yatra. If you want to avoid walking, you can either hire a Dandi or a pony. After your arrival at Kedarnath, we shall be checked in to camps or lodges. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

Day 8: Kedarnath to Sonprayag to Guptakashi/Rudraprayag.

Early in the morning, after taking bath visit the Kedarnath Temple by 4:45 AM for darshan and puja. During this time, you can go inside Garbha Griha and touch the idol of Lord Shiva. After darshan, you will come back to your camp/lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, your return journey to Sonprayag shall start. From Sonprayag, we will drive you to your hotel at Guptakashi/Rudraprayag for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Guptakashi/Rudraprayag to Badrinath via Joshimath.

After an early morning breakfast, we shall start our journey for Badrinath which will be the fourth shrine of your Char Dham Yatra. We will go through Joshimath. On your arrival at Badrinath, you will be checked into your hotel. After some rest, we will take you to the Tapt Kund (Hot water spring) where you will take bath before visiting the Badrinath Temple. After your Badrinath Temple darshan, you shall come back to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Badrinath to Rudraprayag via Joshimath.

Early in the morning, we shall take you to the Badrinath Temple for darshan and puja. Next, we will take you for a sightseeing tour that includes visit to the Mana village, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa and Mata Murti Temple. After the sightseeing trip, you will come back to the hotel and complete all the necessary check-out formalities. After hotel check-out, we shall start our journey for Rudraprayag, a place where two rivers – Alakananda and Mandakini meet. After hotel check-in at Rudraprayag, you can explore the place on your own. Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

Day 11: Rudraprayag to Haridwar via Rishikesh.

In the morning, we shall start our journey for Haridwar. Enroute we shall stop at Rishikesh for a sightseeing tour. At Rishikesh, we will take you to the Shivananda Ashram, Ram Jhoola, Swarg Ashram, Geeta Ashram, Lakshman Jhoola, etc. Next we will drive to Haridwar and will drop you at your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Haridwar to Delhi.

After breakfast at Haridwar, we shall start our journey for Delhi and drop you at your desired location at Delhi for your onward journey. Over here, your memorable Char Dham Yatra with Corners of Earth shall end.
