Itinerary for Dooars Wildlife Tour
(Siliguri – Jaldapara National Park – Hollong – Totopara – Jaldapara National Park – Chilapata – Khayer Bari – Jaldapara National Park – Gorumara National Park – Jhalong – Bindu – Lataguri – Samsing – Suntalekhola – Lataguri – Siliguri)
Day 1: NJP Railway Station/Siliguri/Bagdogra Airport to Jaldapara National Park.
Upon your arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/Siliguri/Bagdogra Airport, one of the representatives of Corners of Earth shall meet you and will drive you to Madarihat. Madarihat, a small village located on the outskirts of the Jaldapara National Park, is famous for Indian Rhinoceros. The place is bordered by tea gardens, forests, hills and small rivers. Next, we will proceed to Jaldapara National Park. After checking in to your jungle resort/lodge, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the place on your own. Overnight stay at Jaldapara National Park.
Day 2: Sightseeing in and around Jaldapara National Park.
Early in the morning, we will go out for wildlife safari that will include visit to the different points inside the national park and Hollong. You can also opt for a thrilling elephant safari inside Hollong. During the jungle safari tours, you may have the chance to see the Indian Rhinos, Bisons, Deers and Asiatic Elephants. After the safari, we will drop you back at your resort for breakfast. Post breakfast, we will go to Totopara, a small village located in the foothills of the Himalayas besides the Torsa River. The place is inhabited by Totos, an aboriginal tribe of the Dooars region. After the day’s trip, we will drop you back at your jungle resort/lodge.
Day 3: Sightseeing of Chilapata and Khayer Bari.
In the morning, we will go to Chilapata to visit the Chilapata Forest Reserve, the fort of Nal King, Barodabari/Malangi and Kodal Bosti. Chilapata is home to different species of animals that include Rhinos, Bisons and various types of birds. Next, we will go to Khayer Bari. South Khayer Bari serves as an animal rescue centre. It became an important destination in Dooars after the ban of the use of animals in the circuses. A large number of tigers and leopards were recovered and brought here. After the day’s trip, we will return to your jungle resort/lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Jaldapara National Park to Gorumara National Park.
After breakfast, we will head towards the Gorumara National Park. By noon, we will reach our destination and will transfer you to your jungle lodge/resort at Lataguri. After lunch, we will go out for a jungle jeep safari and will take you to the important points of interests and watch towers inside the Gorumara National Park. After the jungle safari, we will drop you back at your jungle lodge/resort for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Sightseeing of Jhalong and Bindu.
On this day of your Dooars Wildlife Tour, we will visit Jhalong and Bindu. Jhalong is located on the bank of the Jaldhaka river on the Indo-Bhutan border in the foothills of the Himalayas. This place is a paradise for birdwatchers and bird photographers. Overnight stay at Lataguri.
Day 6: Sightseeing tour to Samsing and Suntalekhola.
After breakfast, we will proceed for a sightseeing tour of Samsing and Suntalekhola. Samsing, a small village located at an altitude of 3,000 feet, attracts a large number of tourists every year. The beautiful landscape views with green tea gardens, hills, forests and small river streams make Samsing popular. Located at a distance of 5 km from Samsing, Suntalekhola is another popular destination for the travel enthusiast people. The place got its name from a small stream named Suntaley Khola. After the day’s trip, we will take you to your hotel at Lataguri for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Departure to NJP Railway Station/Siliguri/Bagdogra Airport.
In the morning, we will drop you at your preferred location in Siliguri for your onward journey. Over here, your mesmerizing Dooars Wildlife Tour with Corners of Earth shall end.
