Itinerary for Delhi – Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar – Leh – Uleytokpo – Leh – Pangong Tso – Leh – Tso Moriri – Leh – Nubra Valley – Hunder – Panamik – Leh – Delhi
Day 1: Delhi to Srinagar (By Flight).
This will be the first day of your trip. You will be taking a morning flight to reach Srinagar. Upon your arrival at Srinagar, a Corners of Earth representative shall meet you and take you to your Luxury Houseboat on Dal Lake/hotel at Srinagar. After lunch, you may enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake. The sight of the Zabarwan Range, which is a short sub-mountain range between Pir Panjal and great Himalayan Range enhances the beauty of this heavenly place. There are several points on this lake that you may visit. The floating gardens, floating markets and the houseboats are the prime attractions of this lake. In the evening, you may go for shopping around the city. Overnight stay in a houseboat/hotel at Srinagar.
Day 2: Srinagar sightseeing.
After breakfast, we shall proceed for a city tour of Srinagar. We shall take you to the world famous Mughal Gardens – Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and the Chasme Shahi Garden. You will also get to see the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, considered to be Asia’s largest tulip garden. If you visit Srinagar in the month of April, you can enjoy the tulip festival. Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Day 3: Srinagar to Gulmarg and back.
After breakfast, we shall initiate our journey for Gulmarg. Gulmarg, a small hill station, located at an altitude of 8,690 feet is home to some of the beautiful valleys of the country. During winter seasons, the place attracts a large number of people interested in winter sports like skiing, snowboarding, etc. One can also enjoy a Gondola ride (a cable car ride) from Gulmarg to Khalinmarg. The Maharani Temple, St. Mary’s Church and the Golf Course are the prime attractions of Gulmarg. Optionally, you may also choose to undertake a short hiking up to Khilanmarg. After having lunch at Gulmarg, we shall proceed for Srinagar. Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Day 4: Srinagar to Leh.
Early in the morning, we shall start our journey for Leh as we will have to cover a long distance that may take 8-10 hours. Upon your arrival at Leh, a representative from Corners of Earth shall take you to your hotel. Leh is the capital of the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir and is situated at an altitude of over 10,000 feet. We will not conduct any tour today as it is necessary for you to acclimatize with the high altitude coupled with low oxygen condition at Leh. Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 5: Leh to Alchi to Uleytokpo.
After completing breakfast, we shall proceed for Uleytokpo. On our way, we will visit a small beautiful village Nimoo. We will go to the place where two rivers – Indus and Zanskar meet. Next, we will take you to Basgo Fort and Likir.
Basko is a historical town situated on the bank of Indus river. The place is best known for Basgo Monastery and historical ruins. Likir, on the other hand, is known for the Klu-kkhyil Gompa. The Likir Monastery is 1000 years old and has a 25-foot-tall golden statue of Gautam Buddha. The monastery is run by the monks belonging to the Gelukpa order.
After arriving at Uleytokpo camp, we will take you to the nearby Alchi Gompa, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful and well preserved Gompa in Ladakh. After the visit, we will come back to the camp at Uleytokpo for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Uleytokpo to Leh.
Early in the morning, we will go to the Rizong Monastery. After the visit, we shall come back to the camp for breakfast. Post breakfast, we shall depart for Leh. En route we will go to the Phyang Monastery. After hotel check-in at Leh, you can spend the rest of the day on your own. Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 7: Leh to Pangong Tso.
In the morning, we shall start for Pangong Tso Lake. We will go through Chang La which is considered to be one of the most beautiful mountain passes in the world. On our way, we will visit Shey Monastery. After reaching, you will be checked into a luxury camp at Spangmik. After spending some time in the camp, we will go out to explore the beauty of Pangong Lake. Pangong Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world bordered by the Himalayan Mountains. The Line of Control between India and Chinese-occupied Tibetan territory actually goes through the salty waters of the Pangong Lake. Overnight stay in a camp.
Day 8: Pangong to Leh.
After enjoying the splendid view of the sunrise over Pangong Lake and the barren Himalayan mountains, we will serve you breakfast beside the lake. After breakfast, we will drive to Leh. Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 9: Leh to Tso Moriri.
Early in the morning, we shall start our journey for Tso Moriri. On our way, we will stop at Chumathang, known for its hot spring. Next, we will stop at Sumdah village following which we will continue our drive to Tso Moriri. Tso Moriri is a beautiful lake situated at an elevation of 15,075 feet. The sunset view at Tso Moriri is something which shouldn’t be missed. Overnight stay in a camp close to the lake.
Day 10: Tso Moriri to Leh.
In the morning, we will take you to the Korzok village. The village offers some beautiful views and is the home of the Drukpa Buddhist Korzok Monastery. We will then proceed through the beautiful landscapes of Ladakh to reach Leh. On our way, we will take stop at the Thikse Monastery. Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 11: Leh to Nubra Valley to Diksit.
After breakfast and hotel check-out at Leh, we shall head towards Nubra valley, situated in the North of Leh. On our way, we shall drive past Khardungla Pass, which is home to the highest motorable roads in the world. By afternoon, we shall reach Nubra and on arrival, our representative shall assist you in fulfilling the hotel check-in formalities. After lunch, we will conduct a sightseeing trip in and around the Nubra valley. We will take you to the Deskit village which is home to a 600-year-old Deskit Monastery. From the monastery campus, spectacular views of the Nubra valley can be witnessed. We shall also take you to the Hunder village. Over here, there is a small monastery and remains of an old fort. You can also enjoy a blissful walk or a camel safari over the sand dunes of the Nubra Valley. Overnight stay in a camp at Hunder.
Day 12: Hunder to Sumuk to Panamik to Nubra Valley.
After breakfast, we will drive to Sumur which is known for its small oasis in the middle of a semi-arid high altitude desert of the Nubra Valley. We will go to the Samstanling Gompa before proceeding to Panamik. Panamik is home to a few hot water springs. It is also home to the Ensa Gompa. After the day’s trip, we will go back to Nubra Valley for an overnight stay.
Day 13: Nubra Valley to Leh.
After breakfast, we shall proceed towards Leh again through the beautiful Khardungla Pass. In the evening, you may explore the small town of Leh on foot and involve yourself in shopping activities. Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 14: Leh sightseeing.
On this day of your trip, we will conduct a sightseeing tour in and around Leh. We shall include most of the major places of attractions as part of this trip. Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 15: Departure from Leh/Leh to Delhi.
This will be the last day of your trip. We will drop you at the Leh airport for your onward journey.
